Jacoby Custom Cues has spent years refining cue construction, from their 64 piece Edge Hybrid shaft to the 140 piece Ultra Pro. The Jacoby BlaCk V4 is their carbon fiber shaft, engineered for players who want dead on accuracy and cue ball control without sacrificing a fluid, even stroke. A specially machined ferrule and thinner wall thickness near the tip reduce tip mass and cue ball squirt, while the V4's unique internal fill delivers a softer hit than some carbon fiber shafts, closer to what you'd expect from wood.
What Makes the BlaCk V4 Different
The V4 is built around a handful of construction details that separate it from a typical carbon fiber shaft:
1
0.9mm Unidirectional Carbon Fiber
The V4 is built from 0.9mm unidirectional carbon fiber, giving the shaft consistent stiffness and stability with no risk of warping from humidity or temperature changes.
2
Specially Machined Ferrule and Thin Wall Construction
A 0.150" White Hydex 202 ferrule pairs with thinner wall thickness near the tip end, reducing tip mass and cue ball squirt for cleaner, more predictable contact.
3
Unique Internal Fill
The fill inside the V4 is unique to this shaft and is what gives it a noticeably softer hit than most carbon fiber shafts, closer to the feel of a wood shaft, while keeping the stiffness and squirt reduction carbon fiber is known for.
4
19" Pro Taper, Three Tip Diameters
A 29" shaft with a 19" pro taper, available in 11.8mm, 12.3mm, and 12.7mm tip diameters so players can match the V4 to the feel they already prefer.
5
Kamui Clear Black Soft Tip, Standard
Every V4 ships with a Kamui Clear Black Soft tip, a seven layer pigskin tip rated between 70 and 74 durometer, for a comfortable, controlled feel right out of the box.
Joint Compatibility
What joint styles does the Jacoby BlaCk V4 come in?+
The V4 is available in 15 different joint variations, including Radial and Uni-Loc, to fit a wide range of cues. We don't keep every joint variation in stock since some are specialized for a single cue brand, but if we don't have your specific joint on hand, we'd be happy to order it for you directly from Jacoby.
What tip diameters are available?+
The V4 comes in 11.8mm, 12.3mm, and 12.7mm tip diameters.
How does the V4 differ from a standard carbon fiber shaft?+
The V4 uses a specially machined ferrule and thinner wall thickness near the tip end to reduce tip mass and cue ball squirt. Its internal fill is unique to this shaft and is designed to deliver a softer hit than most carbon fiber shafts, closer to a wood shaft's feel.
How do I maintain my Jacoby BlaCk V4 shaft?+
Wipe the shaft with a dry cloth or alcohol wipes after play. Never sand or use abrasives on a carbon fiber shaft, as this can damage the surface and void the warranty.
